Brief needed Saiyan technology to get to Namek. Maybe there was an apocalypse, but I doubt it. Even if it was the other way around, wouldn't they have lost their SSJ ability along with their tails and power? That's a huge coincidence! As previously state by another user, Akira Toriyama creator of the DB franchise probably didn't think of it as much as we are.
True, Recoome looked incredibly like a human. But again, coincidence. An example being Tarble and his wife. Would they be able to transform into an Ozaru or Super Saiyan?
Would they still have the Zenkai? Could there possibly be cross breed between a Saiyan and a member of Frieza's race? Namekians wait, they don't have Konatsians have you realized that if you scramble the last five letters it's asians? An Ozaru Yardrat or Demon. Am I pushing it? But it's a cool thought.
I think that the saiyan ancestors could have traveled to Earth but had regressed and lost all their power tails. Saiyans and humans being able to reproduce is one of the major holes in DBZ. It's a fun one though, and that's why it is in there in the first place. Toriyama just wanted to make a cool story, he didn't think about biology and stuff like that. I gotta agree with the post right above mine. While I love DBZ, the science behind a lot of the things that happen is pretty shoddy.
The fact that almost everyone in the universe seems to speak the same language is another rather large plot hole, and as a physics guy the logic behind the time traveling in the Cell arc has always seemed shaky to me. The saiyans and humans were probably ancient tuffle colonies, one of which adapted to 10x earth's gravity, the other at earths gravity The only time his tail came off was when his friends cut it off, but then later regrown in dbgt. Saiyans and humans hav almost no similarites other than them both being humonoid.
Saying, that they are the same thing would be like saying that tuffles and Recoome are human because they look human. If Blutz Waves come from any celestial body, it should also mean that the planet they stand on produces enough to trigger the transformation. This either means they should always be Great Apes, or they should be able to become one whenever they want. There seems to be some inconsistency when it comes to the exact date that Planet Vegeta was actually destroyed.
At the beginning of Dragon Ball Z , Raditz comes to Earth and tells Goku that he is a Saiyan and that his people were wiped out with the destruction of their home planet. He mentions that this event took place just four years ago, which eventually turns out to be untrue. We later learn that Goku was sent to Earth by his parents just before the planet was destroyed by Frieza. Either Toriyama changed his mind later on, which has happened before, or Raditz is just a liar. However, tails were soon eliminated from continuity with the birth of Trunks and Goten.
Despite being just as much a Saiyan as Gohan, neither were born with tails. From this point, they were seemingly removed from continuity and ignored by all the characters.
Toriyama seemed to hate drawing tales, so he decided to do away with them instead of having five different people have them at any one time. In order to explain the disappearance of tails, Toriyama made the claim that they are a recessive gene in half Saiyans, meaning they only appear sometimes.
Saiyan society is broken down into a class system that includes low-class warriors, the Saiyan elite, and some kind of middle class.
The system seems to be determined by some combination of birthright and performance. After all, guys like Raditz and Nappa were shown capable of rising to greatness. Also considering the elite included no more than a handful of Saiyans, it feels like the whole class system was just made up garbage in order for the royal family to retain power.
At one point in the show, achieving the base Super Saiyan level was a big deal, but then that became old news. Then Gohan finally tapped into his unlimited potential and ascended to a new unknown transformation called Super Saiyan 2. Someone should have been able to reach the base Super Saiyan form at least.
After Frieza destroyed the Saiyan homeworld, it was determined that only Vegeta, Nappa, Raditz had survived. However, Raditz knew that his brother Goku had been sent to Earth. Then the movies introduced several new Saiyans who had somehow managed to survive the initial destruction of the planet. Some of them made sense, while others were nonsensical. The Tree of Might introduced Turles, who looked identical to Goku for no real reason. Then it was shown that Broly and Paragus had both managed to survive.
Finally, Dragon Ball: Yo! His favorite actors are Tyrone Power and Eleanor Parker. He can be reached by email at cnrmail bellsouth. By Nicholas Raymond Published Sep 14, As fans of anime will know, things tend to get all kinds of kooky around here. Naturally, anime tends to be steeped in Japanese sensibilities, which is why many shows revolve around martial arts, high school culture, and all these sorts of things.
Not to mention, of course, extra-terrestrial warriors who can fire humongous energy beams from their hands. The more melodramatic the fight scenes, the better. The super-popular Dragon Ball series knows all about that philosophy. As such, the whole world knows all about the Saiyans.
This alien race looks very similar to humans which is how Goku passed for one for so long, of course , but sport some abilities that set them just slightly above the average Earthling on the power-o-meter. Did you know about their tails, and the bizarre relationship it has with their bodies? Do you know what S-cells are, or what happens when a Saiyan goes Super Saiyan? If not, hop on board with us as we take a closer look at this fascinating extra-terrestrial race. Did someone say Kamehameha?
Well, yes. In a game full of odd rat-people and fish-men, nobody even looked twice at Zidane, but still. It was great to have his tail explained away later in the story. They have or rather, they develop great dexterity with it, too, much like some species of real-world monkeys. As with Zidane Tribal, the fact that Saiyans are so humanoid and unremarkable otherwise on the surface makes this fact all the stranger. These tails are more than just interesting ice breakers at parties, though. More than just a curious biological characteristic.
The Saiyans tend to be renowned as a proud and powerful warrior race whatever Frieza might tell you , and they hone their bodies to be powerful fighting machines. If you need proof of that, how about the whole Great Ape thing? Saiyans are able to transform into one during the full moon thanks to Blutz Waves , while their furry appendage is still attached and good to go.
